Autism and ADHD Testing in Children

Often, families come in who are frustrated and feel like no one has listened to their concerns about their child’s struggles. Maybe you are concerned that your child is autistic or has ADHD and this has been brushed aside by well-meaning family and friends.  You might be here because your healthcare provider has suggest that your child be evaluated.  I love working with families, and I  provide quality remote autism and ADHD evaluations in children. We will work together to better understand your child’s needs and find resources for the whole family.

How does remote autism and ADHD evaluations in Children work?

We have an initial 90 minute intake session to talk about your child’s medical history, developmental history, and educational history. Additionally, we discuss autism and/or ADHD symptoms in depth. Parents and teachers also fill out the BRIEF-2, BASC-3, and CARS-2 rating scales which are either available online or are mailed out to be returned.

On the first day of testing, parents/guardians help their child get set up on the computer and leave the room during testing unless the child is dysregulated or cannot be left alone. Parents are asked to return to help with computer setup at another time. During the second testing session, parents set the child up on the video call and then offer the child a basket of toys. There should be a favorite item in the toy basket, preferably something that is a special interest of theirs. I will spend time talking and playing with your child.

The first testing session lasts approximately 2 hours. The second testing session lasts one hour. In addition, testing includes an additional 1 hour interview with the child once they have filled out their BASC-3 form. This allows us to talk about mental health concerns they may be having. Finally, approximately two weeks after the final testing we have feedback session where we discuss the results and recommendations. A professionally written report is provided within two weeks of the feedback session.

How much does Autism and ADHD testing cost?

The total cost of testing is $1300 for an autism evaluation, $1000 for an ADHD evaluation, and $1600 for an autism and ADHD evaluation. I do not accept insurance at this time. Testing is private pay, but is likely cheaper than out-of-pocket costs with insurance, particularly if you have a high deductible.  I may ask for additional opportunities to work with your child.  If so, this is included in the cost and does not cost extra.  Payment for testing is broken down in payments by session.
