Autism & ADHD Testing for Women
in Minnesota
Autism and ADHD assessment cost: $600
Many women spend years working harder than anyone realizes to appear organized, socially comfortable, or “fine.” A thoughtful evaluation can help make sense of experiences that may have been overlooked, misunderstood, or misdiagnosed.
Autism in Women
Autistic women may learn to imitate social behavior, rehearse conversations, suppress sensory distress, or organize life around avoiding overwhelm. Competence on the outside does not reveal the effort or exhaustion underneath.
- Masking
- Sensory needs
- Social exhaustion
- Autistic burnout
ADHD in Women
ADHD may show up as internal restlessness, inconsistent attention, chronic disorganization, emotional overwhelm, or intense effort to compensate. It can be missed when achievement hides the cost of functioning.
- Attention
- Executive function
- Emotional regulation
- Daily functioning

Why Women Are Often Identified Later
Autism and ADHD were historically described using research and examples that did not always reflect how they can appear in women. Some women developed strong social scripts, became perfectionistic, or turned distress inward.
Traits may have been interpreted as anxiety, depression, trauma, mood problems, personality, or simply being “too sensitive.” Others were overlooked because they earned good grades, maintained relationships, or appeared capable.
Late identification can bring validation, grief, relief, and a more accurate understanding of your life.
What the Evaluation May Explore
Every assessment is individualized and may include:
- A detailed clinical and developmental interview
- Masking, social scripts, and the effort behind appearing capable
- Communication, relationships, and sense of belonging
- Sensory sensitivities, routines, and recovery needs
- Attention, organization, time, and executive functioning
- Anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, eating concerns, or other overlapping experiences
- Changes in functioning across hormonal life stages when relevant
- Standardized rating scales and individualized assessment measures
Who May Benefit from an Evaluation?
Autism and ADHD testing may be helpful if you:
- Have wondered whether you may be autistic, have ADHD, or both
- Appear capable but feel exhausted from holding everything together
- Replay conversations, study other people, or consciously manage how you appear
- Have received diagnoses that explain only part of your experience
- Cycle between intense productivity and shutdown or burnout
- Struggle with sensory overload, transitions, organization, or daily demands
- Want recommendations for support, treatment, or accommodations
What You Can Expect
My goal is not to reduce you to a label. It is to help you better understand yourself, your experiences, your strengths, and the ways your brain works.
I offer a thoughtful, respectful, and collaborative process that honors your lived experience. The evaluation considers both what other people can observe and the internal effort required to manage daily life.
Whether the evaluation supports autism, ADHD, another condition, multiple diagnoses, or no diagnosis, you will leave with a clearer clinical formulation.
