tibial plateau fracture

Tibial Plateau/Femur Fracture

About 5 weeks ago, you might have noticed that you were being contacted to have your appointments moved. There was some frustration but a lot of acceptance. People wanted to know what went wrong.

On the night of October 13, I was driving in my car and was hit by another driver. We were going highway speeds. My right leg got jammed under the driving area of the car. It was the worst pain I have ever felt. In short, it was excruciating. It took 6 fireman to get me out of my car to the ambulance. I cried when I was x-rayed. I begged people not to touch me. Honestly, it was dramatic.

Because I shattered my tibeal plateau, had a spiral fracture that went into the joint and also had a depressed fracture, along with a small fracture of the femur, I found myself admitted to the hospital on IV medications for pain. After several days, I was stable enough for surgery and the fracture was repaired. Two weeks of inpatient rehab later, I was ready to go home in my wheelchair. That first week was painful, and boring. I tried reading new testing manuals, editing reports, and cleaning up my office as best I could in my wheelchair. I couldn’t find my motivation and I worried about working.

I was cleared for work on November 17. My first patient showed up, and she immediately had my attention. We connected easily and before I knew it, it was time to bring things to a close. I saw several more patients with similar results. I realized that I needed to be back at work doing what I am passionate about to heal … to feel my purpose … to move forward. I have been and am accepting new clients and finally feel myself recovering. If you need an evaluation, you are in the right place. I am passionate about helping you.

Here are my parting pictures, to which I say ouch.
